Todd Johnson has had a passion for politics his entire life, but it wasn’t until his private sector career came to an abrupt end that he answered the call to serve in the field of political consulting. After serving in the United States Marine Corps, Todd, a native of Kentucky, began his career as a mortgage broker for HSBC, overseeing multi-million dollar branches in Tennessee, Florida, and New Mexico. When the housing market crashed, he was out of a job almost overnight. Looking for a change and recognizing this as his turning point, he volunteered on a governor’s race in New Mexico, and soon realized his calling.
With over a decade of consulting experience, Todd has successfully guided candidates of all levels of experience, from local to national races, and everything in between. His extensive knowledge of the political arena and his eagerness to make things happen have won praise from colleagues across the nation, as has his gift of merging motivation with mobilization.
His resumé encompasses not only general campaign consulting, but also grassroots strategy and deployment, candidate training, fundraising, and voter behavior. His work includes Rise Up New Mexico, a non-profit political organization he started and led, registering over 8,000 new Republicans in a notoriously Democratic state in just under two years. He also served for two years as Political Director / Executive Director for the New Mexico State Republican Party under Chairman Debbie Maestas. In 2016, Todd was asked to join the Donald J. Trump for President campaign as State Director, where he oversaw daily operations and coordinated 300+ volunteers. Following the election, Todd joined the Trump Administration as a political appointee in Washington, D.C., where he served on the Transition Team and on Secretary of Defense James Mattis’ Advance Team as Lead Advance Officer.
Todd and his wife Terri live in Germantown, Tennessee, where they are parents of five wonderful children. They travel back and forth to Washington, D.C. often for Administration events and other political engagements.
